Getting a clean picture on match day
Peak load is the only real test of an IPTV service. These are the things that make the difference between a steady 1080p feed and a stuttering one, in the order they matter.
- Use ethernet on the main television if you possibly can. Wifi is the cause of most match day complaints.
- Open the channel a few minutes before kick off so the buffer fills before the crowd arrives.
- Pick the feed labelled FHD over the 4K one if your connection sits under 25 Mbps.
- Keep a backup channel in your favourites. Big fixtures are usually carried by more than one broadcaster.
- Message support during the match, not after it. A live problem is far easier to trace.
Pay per view events
Boxing and MMA cards are opened on the night rather than sitting in the guide all year. If an event is not visible an hour before it starts, message support and the group is added to your line.
Undercards usually begin two to three hours before the main event, and the feed carrying them is often a different channel to the one carrying the walk ons.
